This week for Take Flight Friday, we’re celebrating one of the most iconic aircraft of all time, the legendary Supermarine Spitfire, as we mark 90 years since its first flight.
For this year’s air show, we’re bringing you not one, but two incredible Spitfires, each with its own unique story.
First up: the Rolls-Royce Spitfire
A truly fitting tribute, representing the engineering brilliance behind the aircraft that helped define an era. Powered by the legendary Griffon engine, this Spitfire showcases the innovation and craftsmanship that made it a symbol of British aviation excellence.
On top of that: the Royal Netherlands Air Force Historic Flight ‘Silver’ Spitfire
A rare and striking international visitor, honouring the role the Spitfire played not only in British history, but across Europe. This beautifully restored aircraft keeps alive the legacy of those who flew and maintained it during pivotal moments in history.
