Will there be tickets available on the gate?
No, tickets are advanced sale only. Do not travel to the event without a pre-purchased ticket. Tickets are available online, via the ticket hotline and at selected outlets


What is the date for the 2017 Event?
The date for the RAF Cosford Air Show 2017 is Sunday 11th June 2017.


What time do Gates open?
Gates will open at 08:30.


What time does the event finish?
The flying display will finish at approximately 17:30 with the showground closing at 19:00.


Are there Cash withdrawal facilities?
Yes, there are cash machines on site which charge a small fee for withdrawals. Location details can be found on the Showground map at information points.


How much does the Souvenir programme cost?
Programmes cost £6.00 and will be available from outlets across the showground.


Are there Toilets provided?
Yes, there a large number of toilets located across the showground for public use.  Location details can be found on the Showground map at information points.


Are Baby changing facilities available?
Yes, there are a small number of baby changing facilities located adjacent to the toilet blocks. Location details can be found on the Showground map at information points. 


Is there local accommodation where I can stay?
There are many local hotels and campsites in the local area. Please visit the local Tourist Information site for information on local accommodation.


Where can I drop off/pick up a passenger?
Due to the one-way traffic system put in place for the Air Show it is not possible to drop off/pick up passengers at the airfield.


Are there First aid facilities on site?
First aid facilities are located around the site and are manned by trained Red Cross personnel.


Is there Seating?
Seating is only provided in our hospitality enclosures; The Cosford Club and VIP Hospitality. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own seating (folding chairs/picnic blankets).

The RAF Cosford Air Show 2016 DVD is available from the PlanesTV Website.

 

How much are tickets?
Earlybird tickets purchased before the 28th March are £22.00. After that they will be £25.00. No tickets will be available on the gate. Under 16's are free when accompanied by an adult.


Where can I buy advanced tickets?
You are able to purchase advanced tickets online via the SeeTickets website. Tickets will also be available in selected local Visitor Information Centres, and at the RAF Museum at both Cosford and Hendon. See the ticket page on our website for more information.


What Hospitality packages are available?

Do children need tickets?
No, under 16's accompanied by an adult enter for free and do not require a ticket.


Do you offer Concessionary prices?
As the RAF Cosford Air Show is self-funded, not-for-profit event with no financial support from the MOD we do not offer individual concessionary prices. All profits are donated to our nominated local and military charities.


What are the event terms and conditions?

As per our Terms and Conditions it is not our policy to refund ticket purchases.


Where do your Profits go?
All profits from the RAF Cosford Air Show are donated to local and service charities in support of military personnel, their families and the local community.  The charities include RAF Association, RAF Benevolent Fund, RAF Charitable Trust and the RAF Museum.  In the last 5 years almost £1,000 000 has been donated to our nominated charities.

How can I book a trip for my Cadet Squadron?

Is parking on concrete or grass?
All visitors parking is on grass, however, there is a small amount of concrete available which is reserved for disabled parking and motorbike parking.  Please note disabled parking is filled on a first come, first serve basis.   


What is the postcode for RAF Cosford to put into my SatNav?
The postcode TF11 8UP will guide you to the local area, however once you start seeing signs for the RAF Cosford Air Show, please turn off your satellite navigation and follow them. For further directions please visit our Travel By Car page, for up-to-date traffic and travel information on the day keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter and tune into Radio Cosford on 87.9FM.


Can I travel to the show by rail?
With the Cosford train station less than 300m from the entrance to the Air Show, travelling by rail is one of the most convenient ways to arrive.  Details regarding extra trains will be released closer to the show.  Please note that this train station does not have disabled access.

Can I arrive on a bicycle?
Yes, there are facilities to park your bicycle; however, the security of the bicycle is the sole responsibility of the owner.  We do not permit cycles to be used once inside the showground.


Is Motorbike parking available?
Motorbike parking is available on a small amount of hard standing ground on the site.


Are Campervans allowed?
The restriction is by size and weight rather than the type of vehicle.  Vehicles up to 7M in length and 7.5t gross weigh are permitted into the car park.  If your vehicle is larger or heavier please do not travel to the airfield in it.  Please note as parking is on grass we are unable to guarantee the ground state.


Is parking free?
Yes, parking is included in the price of admission!!

 

Where will I be parked?
There is a limited amount of off base car parking to the North East of the airfield. Our traffic management team will adapt to the conditions and flows on the day, therefore we can never guarantee where cars will be parked. However, the majority of vehicles coming from the East and South will be on base, and those coming from the West and North will be equally split between on and off base. Please note that those parked in the off base car park are likely to benefit from a speedier entry and exit than those on base.

When can I get out?

The one way systems put in place to assist visitors getting into the show are usually reversed around 13:00 which will allow exit through gate 2.  However if you need to exit before this, then arrangements can be made, please contact one of the parking stewards for instructions.  Gate 4 (exit off the A464) will only be open from approximately 08:30 until approximately 11:00 during the inbound phase. This gate will not open for departures until the flying display has finished which will be approximately 18:00. All vehicles arriving through Gate 4 will be parked on base. If you have arrived through Gate 4 and need to leave the event before 18:00, you must make your way to Gate 2. Please expect some delays if you do need to exit before 18:00.



 

What aircraft will be on display?
To see the list of current confirmed participants for the RAF Cosford Air Show 2017 please visit the Aircraft Displays page. Attendance of aircraft is dependent on a number of factors and the Event Organisers will always try and provide an entertaining six hour flying display with a mix of military and civilian aircraft.


When will Flying display timings be available?
The timings for the flying display will be available in the Souvenir Programme on the day. Timings are not released in advance as they are subject to change.


Why do some aircraft disappear from your attendance list?
There are a number of reasons an aircraft may have to cancel its appearance at the event. These include Operational Commitments & Aircraft Serviceability which are outside the control of the Event Organiser.


What time does the Flying display start?
The flying display will commence at approximately 11:30.


Will there be increased noise?
Yes. Across the Air Show weekend (Thursday 8th June – Monday 12th June) there will be increased aircraft activity and noise in the local area of RAF Cosford. For further information please contact the Air Show Office directly on 01902 377922.


Can I fly in with my own aircraft?
The RAF Cosford Air Show no longer accepts general aviation visitors on the day of the show. However, if you operate a vintage/interesting aircraft type there is the opportunity to join our static aircraft displays. For more details contact the Air Show Office on 01902 377922.



 

How accessible is the Air Show for people with disabilities?
With a dedicated car park with a disabled hosting team disabled people are well looked after at the air show. The disabled car park is connected via a hard standing taxiway to the main thoroughfare of trader, exhibitors and displays.  Please note the disabled car park is filled on a first come, first serve basis and spaces are unable to be booked. Does the Train station have disabled access?
Unfortunately, the Cosford train station does not have disabled access. We cannot recommend the use of Cosford train station to people who are unable to manage steps.


Are Assistance Dogs allowed?
Assistance and guide dogs are welcome to the Air Show, no other dogs or pets are permitted. Please note the Air Show site is usually very crowded, noisy and often very hot. These conditions are uncomfortable and potentially frightening for most animals.


Are Disabled toilets available?
Yes, disabled toilet facilities are available at various locations across the show ground and next to the disabled parking area.



 

A Dog?
No, unless it is an assistance or guide dog which are always welcome. Other pets are not permitted to enter the airfield as the Air Show site can be very crowded, noisy and often very hot. These conditions are uncomfortable and potentially frightening for most animals.


A BBQ/Gas Cooker?
Due to the vast number of fire hazards located on an airfield cooking equipment is not permitted at the Air Show. If you breach this rule you may be asked to leave the event.


A Tent/Gazebo?
Tents, Gazebos and similar items are not permitted along the crowd line as they are a flight safety hazard. These items are at risk of being blown away and can cause considerable damage to aircraft and disrupt airfield operations. They also block the view of other visitors which is unacceptable.  Smaller shelters can be erected away from the crowdline but please be respectful of other visitors when placing them.


My own Food and Drink?
Yes, you are welcome to bring your own food and drink to the Air Show.  We do have a catering company that sells a wide range of hot and cold food should you choose not to.


A Remote Controlled Aircraft / Drone / UAV?

The operation of remote control devices and unmanned aircraft systems is not permitted by law at airfields. Restrictions of Flying Regulations will be established under Article 161 of the Air Navigation Order 2009 on 11th June 2017 at Royal Air Force Cosford. As such no Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems/drones shall be flown at this location or within a 6-mile radius of the airfield.
