The Eurofighter Typhoon provides the Royal Air Force with a highly capable and extremely agile multi-role combat aircraft, capable of being deployed in the full spectrum of air operations, including air policing, peace support and high intensity conflict. It is currently operated by 7 squadrons and is also currently deployed as part of Operation Shader. The RAF Typhoon Display pilot for 2017 is Flt Lt Ryan Lawton. Ryan is a Qualified Flying Instruction on 29(R)Sqn, where his current role is to teach student pilots to operate the Typhoon. He will be putting on an impressive display in the Typhoon FGR4 in the skies over RAF Cosford on Sunday 11th June showcasing the aircraft’s power and manoeuvrability.
