The Tutor T1 is the aircraft used for Elementary Flying Training for all UK military pilots. Manufactured by Grob Aerospace, the aircraft is constructed mainly from carbon fibre reinforced plastic, which combines high strength with light weight. As well as being used for Elementary Flying Training, the Tutor is also used by 14 University Air Squadrons & Air Experience Flights across the UK. The display pilot for 2017 is Sqn Ldr Andy Tagg, who will be putting the aircraft through it’s paces in the skies above RAF Cosford on Sunday 11th June. We also will have another example of the Grob Tutor on static display, provided by the University of Birmingham Air Squadron.
