Merlin HM2

Used by the Royal Navy for Maritime Force Protection and airborne anti-submarine warfare, the Merlin HM2 entered service in 2014. Following a capability upgrade, the Merlin possesses enhanced radar and sonar systems making it one of the world’s most potent submarine hunting helicopter. Due to the ability to carry an armament including Sting-Ray Torpedoes, Depth Charges and a .50 Calibre Machine Gun, the Merlin is much more versatile. An example of the Merlin, operated by 829 Naval Air Squadron, will be on static display for the Air Show.
