Griffin HT1

The Bell 412 Griffin is used as an advanced flying-training helicopter at the Defence Helicopter Flying School (DHFS) at RAF Shawbury, used for pilot training & crewman training. The flying syllabus includes general-handling flying, under-slung load carrying, night-vision goggle training, procedural instrument flying, formation flying, low-flying navigation and an introduction to tactical employment, including operations from confined areas. The introduction of the new UK MFTS fleet means that the Griffin HT1 will be retired from RAF service soon, so make the most of seeing the helicopter on static display!
